I often wonder why some people just walk off and leave their shoes behind.

I take photos of odd and unusual things, and I'm intrigued by the unpeopled shoes that I've found all over the world.

So I'm starting this site off with shoes.
Abandoned shoes. Lost, unloved shoes. Shoes that have been left behind to lead their own lives. Singly, or in pairs.

Sometimes one. Sometimes two.

Picture a woman limping along with one shoe, even though there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the one that she left behind. Was she running from something? Did she escape? What did she do with the one shoe remaining to her?
